The Hive Bonspiel

The Hive is the Utah Olympic Oval Curling Club’s Spring bonspiel, taking place April 4-6th, 2025. In addition to three days of curling and a 4-game guarantee, you’ll also enjoy a near-dedicated facility ice quality and our signature Glowspiel—a black-light curling mini bonspiel on Friday night!

Curling For All Skill Levels

The Utah Olympic Oval offers a unique and Olympic experience with the sport of Curling! Participants can learn this sport with the very same stones that were used in the 2002 Winter Olympics. Whether you’re new to curling, or want to join a league, we’ve got the program for you.

Learn to Curl

The Utah Olympic Oval Learn to Curl Program is a great way to learn the sport. This two hour on-ice class teaches the fundamentals of curling – including proper delivery, sweeping and basic strategy – and is taught by Utah Olympic Oval certified instructors. This program follows lesson and skill development established by USA Curling. For beginners, this program is ideal for date night or with a group of friends.

Learners League

The Utah Olympic Oval’s Curling Learners League is a four week introduction to the four pillars of the sport with a focus on preparing beginner level participants for intermediate league play. Program curriculum offers detailed instruction on sport etiquette, balance and alignment of stone delivery, proper sweeping technique and game strategy.

Leagues

The Utah Olympic Oval’s recreational curling leagues offer a friendly competitive environment for curling enthusiasts to enjoy the sport. Our leagues include round robin, playoff, and championship matches. Medals are awarded to top teams. We welcome all skill levels! All you need to join a league is to have completed a Learn to Curl or Learners League. No teammate? That’s okay, our draw master will form teams as best we can based on experience level. Oval Curling Club membership and USA Curling membership is required for all league curlers.

Private & Corporate Group Events

The Utah Olympic Oval Private Group Curling Sessions are a great way to learn the sport. This two hour on-ice class teaches the fundamentals of curling – including proper delivery, sweeping and basic strategy – and is taught by Utah Olympic Oval certified instructors.
